Unalterable laser colour marking for thermoplastic materials

Carnot MICA has combined the skills of two of its members, Institut de Science des Matériaux de Mulhouse (IS2M) and IREPA LASER. Specialising in surface treatment and laser technology, they have developed a marking technique that combines the use of marking ink and laser technology. The aim is to make the ink particles migrate over the surface of the material. Requiring no surface preparation, this marking is more resistant, particularly to mechanical (scratches) and chemical (perfume) aggressions. Thanks to the development of special inks, the technique is now colour compatible, providing more opportunities for 3D printing.
