Antimicrobial spray coating

A simple and effective innovation to protect medical implants
The antimicrobial spray coating, presented by Philippe Lavalle, Research Director at INSERM and member of the Carnot MICA, is a breakthrough innovation in the fight against infections related to medical implants.
This spray gun system generates an antimicrobial film on any surface using only biopolymers.
A simple and high-performance spray gun for protective film formation
The antimicrobial spray coating works through an ingenious device: two syringes simultaneously inject two different biopolymers through a spray gun.
Their combined action instantly forms a uniform film on the targeted surface.
The main advantage of this innovation lies in its ease of use and strong bactericidal effectiveness, without the addition of antibiotics.

Supported by the Carnot MICA, this project demonstrates how academic research and industrial expertise come together to turn laboratory ideas into concrete healthcare solutions.
